This drainage improvement project is one of the Transportation and Stormwater Capital Improvements Projects approved by the Board after Tropical Storm Fay.
 

Major drainage conveyance systems exist through the subdivisions consisting of open ditches and cross drains. The goal of the project is to analyze the existing drainage systems in the vicinity of the Autumn Woods Subdivision, Lakewood Village Subdivision, and Shadywood Unrecorded Subdivision, and implement recommended drainage improvements.
 

Some of the specific locations analyzed included in this study are two existing cross drains beneath Autumn Woods Way, cross drains beneath Cypress Circle, Doonesbury Way, Mossy Top Way, Bright Drive, the existing service road on Talquin State Forest property, and other open channels and storage areas in the flow path. The study area contains a total contributing area of 1,511 acres, consisting of a mixture of rural areas, light commercial businesses, and residential areas.
 

The proposed improvements consists of open ditch grading along the existing drainage easements, cross drain pipe upgrades at Autumn Woods Way and Bright Drive, ditch lining to improve drainage conveyance and erosion control after the Bright Drive cross drain, and a low crossing to replace the existing constricted pipe at the outfall point.
